Complete a one-on-one meeting

Applicable Roles:
  1. Administrators
  2. Supervisors

The 1:1 meeting is the final step in the Assessment Program. It allows a leader, usually a person's direct supervisor or a coach to finalize the scores they completed in the leader rating step. Results from the leader rating persist in this step; however, this is the leader or coach's opportunity to make adjustments and make the activity a collaborative session. We encourage you to share screens during the 1:1 meeting and go through the results in a productive manner. Leaders may want to change scores based on the live discussion.

During your 1:1 meeting, you can showcase each person's results, make adjustments, set new tasks, and plan together.
Why do they matter?
1:1 meetings provide an opportunity to
  1. Review the leader rating and feedback in comparison to the person's self assessment.
  2. Discuss your results with the person and make any agreed-to adjustments
  3. Agree to follow-up tasks and expectations
Tips for an effective 1:1 meeting
  1. Discuss all responses to make sure that the individual understands your feedback
  2. Share feedback in a productive manner, such as following the Situation - Behavior - Impact (SBI) feedback model
  3. Spend time talking about each score discrepancy -- these are places where a person rated a question a different score than the leader rated the person
  4. Review low scores and discuss how the person can productively remediate the particular skill or willingness area
